What?
I decided to start with geometry – polyhedrons as they contain the following aspects that I’m interested in, that work with discernment:
- Construct with precision
- A polyhedron is a basic unit of the world
- It’s a slow making process
Inspiration: Max Bruckner (1860 – 1934) – his collection of stellated and uniform polyhedrons - https://publicdomainreview.org/collection/max-bruckner-s-collection-of-polyhedral-models-1900
So what?
Making complex symmetrical and asymmetrical polyhedral teaches me about the constraints of construction, logic, block making, recipes, It evokes an sense of joy and fun when things fit together. Hones visual and physical precision and encourages focus.
What next?
More practice for sure. Maybe make a set of 10 polyhedrons.
Compare making with precision with making emotionally.
