think to make - make to think

This blog is documentation of my Capstone project since January 2020. I have been working to develop the quality of discernment in myself and in others through various experiments, reading and conversations.

Why discernment?

I believe it is the one lifelong capability that education builds or is supposed to build. Discernment is the ability to perceive and choose ethically and wisely. How can this quality be built?

My premise is that it can be built through the body, through making of different kinds. I hope to understand and express this landscape of making and the kinds of thinking it develops.

You can read more about the project here.

In the blog below, you can read about the experiments I have been working on.

Practice as mastery to me means that I experiment with ways to develop the capability of discernment, which I have identified as core to my practice, through the action of making in different ways. As I develop this capability in myself I also work with others so that I am able to validate the insights I arrive at.
